At first I thought my name came from the big spot on my back. It turns out I was named SPOT because I can spot anything that might put clinicians at greater risk of making a medication error, and I’m really good at it. So yeah, naming me SPOT for all the things that I can spot is a little spot-on… and it definitely makes sense.
However, I have learned I also have quite the nose for sniffing out potentially dangerous packaging and labeling in hospitals and pharmacies … so I guess I’m lucky they didn’t call me SNIFF!
Either way, I’ve dedicated my life to being the faithful companion of everyone who is looking to enhance patient safety.
